Freedom's European Travel Insurance
We offer Single Trip Cover for Europe up to the age of 85 years and European Annual Insurance up to 75 years. Our Policies cover all areas of Europe including a few extras that you may not expect. We appreciate that some Mediterranean cruises may stop in places like Morocco and some Baltic cruises may stop at a Russian port, so rather than penalise our customers and hike up the price, we have included the following destinations in our European cover:
- Morocco
- Tunisia
- Ukraine and Russia (West of the Ural Mountains)
- Iceland
- Azerbaijan
Should a holiday trauma arise, our clients can rest assured our European Travel Insurance scheme will come to the rescue
Cover for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions
We are specialists in covering pre-existing medical conditions and when it comes to Europe, you will find our European Travel Insurance competitively priced. The quickest way to apply is online but we understand that completing a medical screening in this way may not suit everyone, so we have a team of Travel Insurance Advisers who are ready and waiting to take calls and tailor quotes to meet individual needs.
There are a few countries within Europe that operate a high level of private healthcare, which can make medical treatment expensive. For this reason, if you live with pre-existing medical conditions you may see an increase in premium if you are travelling to the following areas:
- Spain
- The Canary Islands
- The Balearic Islands
- Cyprus
- Malta
- Turkey
- Greece
Use your EHIC to reduce any medical claim whilst abroad and no excess will apply under Freedom's medical expenses cover
European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)
Available to UK residents, allowing free or reduced cost treatment that is deemed necessary during trips with the European Economic area or Switzerland. Although this is handy to have, it is not a substitute for European travel insurance. You will be treated on the same terms as insured nationals of the country your in, and you may find treatment which is free on the NHS is not in other countries. The card covers state provided medical healthcare and does not cover:
- All your medical costs
- Private treatment
- Repatriation to the UK
You can apply for an EHIC at www.ehic.org.uk
