It's easy to overlook travel insurance if you aren't leaving the UK but it's important to consider your cancellation risk. If you have pre-existing medical conditions including all forms of cancer, heart conditions or stroke and have a sudden change to your health which causes you to cancel a trip within the UK, the Freedom policy will cover you to make a claim providing you have declared all relevant medical details.
We offer both single and annual multi-trip cover for UK trips. Our European annual multi-trip policy will also cover any trips within the UK or Channel Islands, providing you have at least 2 nights planned.

What does UK travel insurance cover?
The main benefits of purchasing UK travel insurance is to protect you from cancellation of your trip if you become ill beforehand and would be unable to travel. You would also be covered for loss of baggage
When to buy cover
You should purchase travel insurance when you buy the holiday, cancellation cover then applies from the date that you buy your insurance policy

Your policy is valid for UK travel where you have at least two nights planned with either:

Single trip travel insurance is available up to the age of 79. The available duration will vary depending on your age bracket. See the policy wording or call us if your dates are not returning a quotation as we may be able to explore alternative policies.
Our policies are available to you if you are permanently resident in the United Kingdom (UK) and registered with a general practitioner (GP) in the UK. There is no cover for residents of the Channel Islands or IOM
Generally, Freedom is unable to offer cover for people on a waiting list for surgery but there are exceptions to the rule. Talk to the Freedom Call Centre on 01223 446 914 where we can look if there are any options available , it may be that we can find you a policy that excludes cover for the medical condition relating to the pending surgery.
