Middle East Travel Advice Update: Dubai, Jordan & Qatar

We would like to provide a further update to customers in relation to travel advice for Dubai, Jordan and Qatar.

This information was last updated on 07/07/2026

This communication is for general guidance only. Policy cover, terms and conditions will vary between travel insurance policies and insurers. Customers should review the policy wording applicable to their cover to understand the specifics of cover and exclusions.

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advice for these destinations is currently as follows:

  1. Dubai and the wider United Arab Emirates – the FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel.
  2. Qatar – the FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel.
  3. Jordan – open to travel, with the exception of the area within 3km of the border with Syria, where the FCDO continues to advise against all travel.

Please continue to monitor FCDO – Foreign Travel Advice for your specific destination, as advice can change at short notice.

What this means if you are travelling to these destinations:

  1. Check the FCDO advice for your exact destination before you book, and again shortly before you travel.
  2. If your destination, itinerary or travel dates have changed, contact us to update your policy accordingly.
  3. Ensure your passport has at least 6 months’ validity from your date of arrival, a common entry requirement across the Middle East.

Important reminders:

  1. All travel insurance policies contain exclusions relating to war and/or military conflict, whether declared or not.
  2. There is no cover for events that were public knowledge at the time a trip was booked or a travel insurance policy was purchased.
  3. Customers travelling with a pre-existing medical condition should ensure their policy reflects both their health and their itinerary, particularly for long-haul flights and warmer climates.

If you have a specific question about your policy cover, you can reach our customer service team at services@freedominsure.co.uk.

Best wishes,

The Freedom Team
