Last Minute Easter Travel? Here’s Our Top Destinations

Easter is almost here, and if you haven't booked anything yet, don't panic. There's still time to travel somewhere warm by the sea, and sometimes the best holidays are the ones you decide on at the last minute!

We’ve selected a couple of beach destinations that are particularly well-suited to a relaxed Easter escape, places where you can take things at your own pace and enjoy a comfortable, easy getaway.

Why Is Tenerife a Great Choice for an Easter Beach Holiday?

Tenerife has been a favourite with British travellers for decades, and it’s not hard to understand why. The weather at Easter is comfortably in the mid-20s, and the island has an unhurried feel that suits those who want to rest rather than rush around. Los Cristianos is a particularly good choice if you prefer a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere; it’s well set up for visitors, easy to get around, and has some really lovely restaurants right on the seafront. If you’d prefer sightseeing, a trip up to Mount Teide is a memorable experience; the scenery is beautiful, and it’s far more accessible than you might expect.

What Makes Malta Ideal for a Relaxed Easter Getaway?

If you haven’t been to Malta yet, Easter is the perfect time to go. It’s warm without being too hot, the island is small and easy to explore, and the mix of pretty coastlines, incredible history and excellent food means there’s always something enjoyable to do, without ever feeling like you have to rush. Valletta is a highlight not to be missed, and the smaller villages dotted around the island each have their own charm!

What Should You Consider Before Booking Your Easter Holiday?

One final, important point: make sure your travel insurance is arranged in advance. It’s something many people intend to organise later, but it’s best not left until the last minute, particularly if you have any pre-existing medical conditions that need to be declared.

At Freedom, we understand that having a medical history shouldn’t limit your ability to travel with confidence. We specialise in providing cover tailored to individual needs, helping ensure that, should anything unexpected arise, you’re supported.

With everything in place, you can look forward to your Easter break and enjoy it with peace of mind.

There’s something special about stepping off a plane and feeling that warm sunshine straight away, the heat on your skin, the familiar scent of sunscreen, and that sense you can finally switch off. For so many older travellers in the UK, a sunny getaway is one of life’s simple joys. And having a heart condition shouldn’t mean missing out on that.
They say half the fun of a holiday is in the planning. Researching destinations, making a packing list, and the anticipation as you count down the days. But somewhere between booking your flights and deciding whether you really need that extra pair of shoes, it's worth taking a moment to think about travel insurance.
