Travelling Against FCDO Travel Advice

The FCDO usually advise against travel to countries experiencing civil unrest, war and epidemics, but more recently COVID-19 has had an unprecedented effect on travel advice across the globe.

It’s important to keep up to date with what’s happening at your holiday destination via the FCDO website https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice. This link will take you to the list of countries, select the country you’re visiting to learn more.

Where do Freedom stand?

As an insurance intermediary, we cannot provide advice or guidance on travel, we can only use the FCDO travel advice as our guide as to whether or not cover is valid.

As ever, our policies become invalid for anyone traveling to a country where FCDO advice against travel exists. A pandemic is no exception.

There’s something special about stepping off a plane and feeling that warm sunshine straight away, the heat on your skin, the familiar scent of sunscreen, and that sense you can finally switch off. For so many older travellers in the UK, a sunny getaway is one of life’s simple joys. And having a heart condition shouldn’t mean missing out on that.
Easter is almost here, and if you haven't booked anything yet, don't panic. There's still time to travel somewhere warm by the sea, and sometimes the best holidays are the ones you decide on at the last minute!
