Travel and holiday insurance for people with high blood pressure

Blood pressure, often referred to as Hypertension is a term used to describe the strength with which your blood pushes on the sides of your arteries as it’s pumped around your body.

We understand that your blood pressure may not currently be raised, and that medication is often prescribed as a preventative due to age or in relation to heart conditions, but it is important that you always notify us if you have a specific medication to maintain or control your blood pressure level to make sure you are fully covered if you suffered a relating complication, such as a heart attack.

Freedom have taken all scenarios into consideration when developing a fully comprehensive policy. Even if you have never suffered with heart problems but were to develop a heart condition after purchasing your policy or whilst abroad, cover is provided for emergency medical treatment and cancellation of your trip.

Blood pressure travel and holiday insurance at a fair price

Blood pressure can be raised but can also be precautionary. This may be due to age or previous health circumstances, such as diabetes, heart attacks, angina or strokes. Even if your blood pressure and cholesterol has never been raised, it is important that you always declare your condition whilst it falls into our medical declaration so that we have it on record in the event of a claim.

Our prices are based on a person’s current state of health at the time of taking out a policy and our medical screening process gives us an indication of the severity of your condition. If you have high blood pressure and cholesterol or any of the related conditions, we will tailor a policy that specifically meets your individual needs, making sure you have the right level of cover for your trip.

Applying for travel and holiday insurance with blood pressure

You can apply here online or over the telephone, it’s quick, simple and totally confidential. To provide you with a quote, you’ll need to let us know where you are travelling to, and for how long. Make sure to declare your blood pressure any other pre-existing medical condition that applies to you and anyone else named on the policy.

You will be guided through a medical screening questionnaire, where a series of relevant questions will be asked to assess your health and each individual condition. These questions should be answered accurately and to the best of your knowledge. You will then be presented with available policy options, which include cover for declared medical conditions as well as cover for cancellation, baggage, personal accident and lots more.

While the information we need about your blood pressure is very small, if at any point you'd rather speak to someone, don't hesitate to call us!
