Lupus has so many relating complications which makes everyone’s experience of the condition completely unique. Providing your condition has been declared, Freedom will cover you should you require emergency medical treatment whilst abroad. Freedom have been working alongside and providing cover for Lupus UK members for several years. We are signposted on the Lupus UK website, which can be found at www.lupusuk.org.uk

You can help support Lupus UK by quoting ‘LUPUS UK’  when you purchase travel insurance from Freedom to make sure they receive a donation.

FAQs

Some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • What about travelling with Lupus on long-haul flights?

As the symptoms of lupus can be achy joints and muscles it is important to keep moving as much as possible, especially with long plane journeys to prevent DVTs.

  • I have various complications that can be linked to my Lupus, is this a problem?

This isn’t a problem. By screening your Lupus our medical screening system asks about the types of complications that can be linked to Lupus. You would then at the same time also declare those conditions to be fully covered by the policy.

  • Do you have a maximum trip length for people that have Lupus?

We can cover for single trips up to 365 days in duration, and also offer annual multi-trip policies. Trip duration may vary depending on age.
