Cyprus Travel Insurance With Medical Conditions Cover

If you’re planning a holiday to Cyprus, make sure your trip is protected with the right travel insurance. Freedom Travel Insurance offers comprehensive Cyprus travel insurance, including cover for a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions.

Whether you’re visiting the stunning beaches of Ayia Napa, exploring the Troodos Mountains, or enjoying a relaxing retreat in Paphos, our policies are designed to give you peace of mind throughout your stay.

Is Cyprus Covered Under European Travel Insurance?

Yes, Cyprus is considered part of Europe for travel insurance purposes. This means that if your travel insurance policy has European cover, Cyprus will be included. When selecting your destination region, simply choose “Europe” to ensure your trip to Cyprus is covered.

What Does Cyprus Travel Insurance Include?

We provide cover for:

  • Emergency medical expenses – including repatriation if required

  • Pre-existing medical conditions – subject to screening and approval

  • Trip cancellations or delays

  • Lost, stolen or delayed baggage

  • COVID-19 cover

  • 24/7 emergency helpline while abroad

Optional extras like cruise cover or winter sports can also be added if needed.

Do I Need a Visa to Travel to Cyprus?

If you’re a UK passport holder, you do not need a visa to visit Cyprus for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. This applies whether you’re travelling for a holiday, visiting family, or attending a business meeting.

However, your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from Cyprus and issued within the last 10 years.

If you plan to stay longer than 90 days, work, or study in Cyprus, you may need a visa or residence permit – check the latest guidance from GOV.UK.

While you may not need a visa, it’s still essential to have comprehensive Cyprus travel insurance in place to protect against unexpected medical costs, cancellations, or travel disruptions.

FAQs

Some of our most frequently asked questions.

Who is eligible to purchase cover with Freedom insurance?

Our travel insurance products are available to permanent UK residents who are registered with a GP in the UK. Some of our products can also cover residents of the Channel Islands or Isle of Man. You need to be fit to travel at the time of purchasing travel insurance cover.

We use a medical risk assessment tool to enable us to provide you with a quote. You will be asked a number of questions about your medical status. From the information provided we will base our quotes on your health status.

Yes. Our aim is to cover you fully, if you do not declare all of your pre-existing medical conditions then you will not be fully covered in the event of a claim and risk invalidating your insurance.

As we operate an on-going medical warranty, you will need to inform us of any health changes that occur between your quotation/purchase date and the date of travel. We may be required to ask additional questions to ensure your travel insurance is up to date and fully covering you for the trip.

We cover you from the time you start your trip right up until the day you return back to the UK, (except for cancellation cover which starts when you buy the policy and ends when you start your trip).

We accept all major debit and credit cards including American Express. You can make payment online during the customer quote journey, or by calling the Freedom team on 01223 454 290.

We’ll consider cover for people while they are receiving medical treatment including chemotherapy. We base all our quotes on individual circumstances. However, we cannot cover the actual cost of any on-going treatment that you know you will require during the trip, such as dialysis or cancer treatments.
