Summer Holidays on as Balearics Join Green List

The Government have announced the latest changes to the three-tier traffic light system for international which renews our hope in 2021 summer holidays.

The information detailed within is applicable as of 30th June 2021 and is subject to change based on the latest government and FCDO travel advice.

Several travel hotspots have been moved to the green watch list, meaning travellers will not have to isolate on return to the UK. Countries placed on the green or amber watch lists are under close review and may be moved to another tier depending on the latest COVID-19 risk assessment.

Freedom Insurance policies are available to countries on the Green and Amber lists but only to destinations where no advice against all or all but essential travel exists from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Whilst a country may have been placed in Green or Amber tiers, this does not mean the FCDO are allowing travel unless essential. All travellers must check the latest advice for their chosen destination at Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office – Travel Advice before purchasing insurance or travelling.

Changes to the Traffic Light System

Based on the latest COVID-19 risk assessment, from 4am on 30th June, the following changes will be made to the traffic light lists:

Moving to Green watch list – Anguilla, Antarctica/British Antarctic Territory, Antigua and Barbuda, Balearic islands (Formentera, Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca), Barbados, Bermuda, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Madeira, Malta, Montserrat, Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands. Israel and Jerusalem have been moved from Green to Green watch list.

Moving from Amber to Red – Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Haiti, Mongolia, Tunisia and Uganda

Rules on return to the UK

Amber ā€“ You will be required to take a private COVID test before returning to England and a second test within the first two days you are home. You will be required to self-isolate in your home for 10 days subject to the test to release scheme on day 5.

Red – You are required to take a COVID test before returning to England and a second test within the first two days you are home. All travellers will be required to quarantine in a hotel at their own expense upon return.

Watch list – Countries placed on the Green or Amber watch lists are under close review and may be moved to another tier depending on the latest COVID-19 risk assessment.
